    Comment on it

Often client demand to not hire tester for small projects generally because of limited time and project cost and say to development team to perform testing themselves to save time and budget. This decision may deliver project on time but could not give guaranty of quality since it has been developed and tested by developer itself and they would have tested their implemented functionality only, not the complete flow of application and expected business logic.

In the end client may find some design and business logic issues that must be taken care earlier during development cycle and may say to redesign and implement again the application that will cost for both company and client since redesigning and redevelopment will increase the cost of project and release time as well.

I think we should tell to client in the first project planning meeting to hire tester even for small project if he want to reduce the risk of redesigning, redevelopment, cost and want to release project within estimated time.

    Thanks !

  • You are right Ranjeet. Client will always seek ways of cutting the cost and they find/think testing as most suitable candidate to put an axe on. It is service provider's duty to tell them the importance of testing.
Due to no/improper testing they end up spending more time and money.
