1. Escalation in a similar UI There has been a boom in responsive sites which had a aftermath of most websites being visually similar. However the responsive + bootstrap feature was inst solely responsible the rise of WordPress & the theme market also have a hand in it.

2. HD hero images Large images are the best way to catch any user's attention, sites are targeting human's visual element & have started to embed HD videos along with the HD photos.

3. App-like menus (Hamburger) With a rise in the mobile application market, websites too adopted the UI elements, hamburger menu is one of them, it is easily recognized and function able as well.

4. Ghost buttons + Minimal typography Ghost buttons are the elements that are simple outlined buttons that changes its state when clicked upon, they cause less distraction, are user friendly that adds the tint of minimalism in the design. Clean & minimal fonts also adds to the simplicity of any website.

5. Parallax design/Focusing backgrounds Parallax and one page designs came into trend because now a days none of us had the time to switch along pages & wait them to load, rather people chose a simple scroll using their thumb. Parallax added 3d illusions that helps to draw user's attention in a quite easy way.

6. Motion animations Motion animation is a good way of presenting something what a product or company is all about, most of the websites are using motion animations to present the same because animations are interactive & entertaining.

7. Block pattern With the upcoming parallax pattern and large images, block pattern is something that made its place in the market & its a good way to reduce large para's into small chunks.

We just don't have to follow them because they are TRENDING or POPULAR. For Example block patterns/long scroll doesn't work on an e-commerce site, So don't just copy a trending UI, add new things, work differently, create something trendy & don't just follow a same track
