    What is Protocol Testing?

Protocol Testing is common word utilized by the organizations working in the transmission enterprises for testing distinct protocols in the domains of Wireless, Switching, Routing etc.

There are many companies which manufacturing networking devices. Few companies name as JUNIPER, CISCO etc create networking devices as modems, routers, wireless access points, etc. All companies exploit distinct protocols for transmission or communication. An example for this, CISCO utilizes OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), EIGRP(Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol) etc.

The main work in the protocol testing is to check that all protocols are working or not as per their corresponding measurement or standard.

Process For Protocol Testing:- Here is few process for the protocol testing mentioned as below:-

    • We must require the protocol analyzer and simulator for protocol testing.
    • Protocol analyzer assures suitable translation or decoding including call and session analysis. Although simulator simulates several contents of networking element.
    • Commonly a protocol testing is distrained on the Device Under Test(DUT) to different devices as routers and switches and arranging protocol in it.
    • After that verifying the packet structure of the packets dispatch by the appliances or devices.
    • This verify accomplishment or performance, protocol algorithm, scalability etc of the appliance by applying different-different tools.
