Sometimes Tester needs common sense and smart approach to test the application.

Many times it is not possible to test the whole application within the specified time and sometimes the documentation might exist-but not detailed or complete.

In such situations you needs to to follow some points.

Here are some points to be considered when there isn’t enough time for thorough testing and less documentation :

• Firstly you should collect the SRS doc if any from Manager or Lead and understand it.
• Talk to the Project members about application
• Then you should understand what application do and what is the scope of the application.
• Test the major flow of the application.
• Find out the High risk module of the application, one has to test where the probability of failure is high.
• Test the important functionalities in your project,one has to test what is most important in the application.
• Find out the parts of the code are most complex, and thus leads to most errors?
• Now focus on UI of the application
• Test ease of use of the application
• Test the application on different platforms and browsers
• Test the application on different resolutions
•  Now test the negative cases on the basis of your application scopes
