Build Verification Testing:-

A build verification test is a set of tests execute on each new build of an application/software/product to confirm that the build is testable or not, before delivering it to the testing team. It is generally a small group of tests which exercise the normal or conventional functionality of the application. Any build which fails, the build verification test is discarded, and testing carry on, on the preceding build of the application/software/product, provided there has been at least one build that has passed the verification test. Build verification test is a major part because after that developers have knowledge if there is any significant trouble with the build right now.Build Verification Testing is also known as Build Acceptance Testing or Smoke Testing.

Below is mention few general points for Build Verification Testing, which are very helpful for us:-

1- It is a group of tests that validate only major performance.
2- Build Verification Testing is done on regular basis builds and when build verification testing done and found any issue then build is rejected and after fixing these issue new build is released.
3- The main benefit of build verification testing is that avoid the efforts of testing team.
4- Hardly Build Verification Testing should not be perform more than half hour.
5- Build Verification Testing is just like as a regression testing, which is done for all new build.
