What is Bug Isolation ?

Bug isolation or defect isolation is a process in which bugs are documented using distinct data fields mentioned in the bug report, such as Steps to Reproduce, input data and attachments. In other words it is a process of adding the details of an individual bug into the data fields mentioned in the bug report. There are few points to be considered for defect isolation are as follows:-
1- Treat each defect as if it were a rare occurrence and carefully collect any data that you can.
2- Get into a habit of never dismissing an error dialog without considering whether you should capture it.
3- Save the exact text of any error message you see and take screen shot.
4- Save as much as you can and it only takes a few seconds to copy and paste text into a file.
5- Use a text editor and image editing software, if needed.
