    In WordPress you can add sidebar by using register_sidebar() function .

    register_sidebar(array( 'name' => 'name_of _sidebar', 'id' => 'id_of _sidebar', 'description' =>'description of sidebar', 'before_title' => 'HTML to place before title', 'after_title' => 'HTML to place after title' ));
