As you all know, we can boot any OS from a usb-stick also. So today i am going to tell you how to create a bootable ubuntu pen-drive from windows.

There are many utilities available for it. And we can create it using command line as well.

Here i am using a utility known as universal usb installer .

Follow the given steps to create the bootable ubuntu pendrive.

1> download windows usb installer utility. (It can be downloaded from here)

2> Once it is downloaded open the exe and install it.

3> now you have the utility to make a ubuntu bootable usb disk from windows. All you require now is a iso image of the version of ubuntu you want to install. After attaining the required ubuntu version follow the below steps:

4> Open the Universal USB installer, and open the drop-down saying (Select a Linux Distribution from the dropdown to put on your USB) You will be given many drop-down options, select Ubuntu as we are making a bootable pen drive for ubuntu.

5> Then move to the text-box which prompts you to select your ubuntu iso image from your hard-disk, i.e Browse & open your ubuntu iso imnage.

6> Then next step is to select your USB drive from the available drives, this tells the utility that which drive has to be be used as a bootable drive.

7> Click on create & then for confiramtion click on OK.

The process of making your USB stick bootable with ubuntu will start now & it won't take much of your time. When you see the message Installation Done, Process is complete!, you are ready to go. You can now install ubuntu on any system with this bootable stick.
