BIT_LENGTH(str)
BIT_LENGTH function returns the length of the string str in bits.
for example, the bit length of text is 32 and hello is 40.
mysql> SELECT BIT_LENGTH('text'); +--------------------+ | BIT_LENGTH('text') | +--------------------+ | 32 | +--------------------+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) mysql> SELECT BIT_LENGTH('hello'); +---------------------+ | BIT_LENGTH('hello') | +---------------------+ | 40 | +---------------------+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec)
