    Router is an inter-networking device which is used to connect two or more networks.



    Cisco Hierarchy Design Model:



    Access layer Router

    • (Low cost/ Low processing/ Less port)

    • Routers which are used by small organization and also known as Desktop or small company layer Routers.

    • Router Series: 800, 1000, 1600, 1700, 1800, 2000.

    Distribution Layer Router

    • (More cost / more processing / more number of ports)
    • Routers which are used by the ISPs and are also known as ISP layer routers.
    • Router Series: 2600, 3200, 3600, 3700, 3800

    Core Layer Router

    • (High cost/ high processing/ large number of ports)
    • Routers which are used by the Global ISPs and are also known as Backbone Routers.
    • Router Series: 6400, 7200, 7300, 7400, 7500, 7600, 10000, 12000

  • Router is an inter-networking device which is used to connect two or more networks. 192.168.0.1 (192.168.o.1), 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1, 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.x IP addresses are the default gateway of most routers in the world.
    Check this site if you have any problem with your router, 192.168.0.1. Hope this help!
