    ARP Address Resolution Protocol is used for mapping the IP address with the MAC address.

     

     

    Address Resolution Protocol ARP Message Format

     

     

    ARP is mainly used for the mapping at the Data Link layer in the network model.

     

    MAC address is burned into the network card permanently used by ARP.

     

    You can view your network card’s hardware address by typing the command "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt.

     

    The purpose of ARP is to find the MAC address of the device in the LAN Local Area Network for IP message which is to be send.
