Overview :

'Web Search' is the Fastest and simplest search engine with strong searching capability in PIM. This feature helps users to locate the all product related enriched information throughout the Server in an handy way.

Facets and attributes are put together for Optimization Search thereby Quickly and Better Search Output.

Product Information Management provides this 'Web Search' feature that works on Indexing and Full Text Search Engine . Indexing is Performed on Apache Tomcat Application Server.

Indexing will extract the PIM data with the help of Service API as in Rest API.

This feature is used by both PIM web and Desktop.

Technical Details :

Web Search is made-up on Solr Framework which involves the Integration of PIM with the help of Rest API in PIM. Index of Solr request Service API to perform search queries. These queries can contains input by user, facets and filtering options that would help to get the Output.. The Output of queries fired will be in from of Table View for Items/Products/Variants. The queries are fired via Http and Receive with JSON, XML, formats in PIM Web.

What is Solr Framework ?

Solr is Open Source framework that works on Java Language(REST API). Solr uses the Library Lucene that is directory included into the Application. Special Features of Solr Framework is given below:

• Provides the Flexible Navigation
• Multil-Language feature that helps in PIM.
• Query Fired support structure as well Textual search
• Binary output format over HTTP.
• Highly reliable, salable and fault tolerant,
• Support Distributed Indexing,
• Load balanced Querying.

Working of Solr Framework

Solr Framework generates and uses the token to perform accelerated text search. The Motive of using Solr is to give double-quick Search Result since normal indexing is not optimize to do so.

Index used by Solr is termed as 'inverted Index' as it alter a <page to words> Data to a keyword <words to Page> Data format.

Solr Indexing data contains the Documents (Unstructured Form) which contains the fields that includes the PIM data.

During Query Process, it support the Facets, auto suggestion, and Filter Option. And In the Result Process, it can comprises of Ranking, Relevance, Hit Highlighting feature.

Tools used by Solr In PIM :

Solr Analyzers : Analyzer will scan the text at the search time.

Solr Tokenizers : Tokenizers helps to breakdown sequence of text into Tokens.

Solr Filters : Tokens generated by Tokenizer will further processed to Filters that will modify the tokens.
