We always face challenges when we don't have an amazon account or we don't want to open amazon account and give credit card credentials. So I came up with a solution where you can see step by step how to setup server or map elastic address to the server.
In my previous blog Launching EC2 instance in amazon . I mentioned the steps with their screenshots of amazon console regarding how to create an instance in amazon.
In this I will explain how to map an elastic IP to an instance.
Initially once you login to the amazon console and you select "EC2". You will be redirected to the below screen.
You need to select the "Elastic IPs" from the left panel and you will see a screen like this
If you don't have any elastic ip you will not see any here. otherwise you will be able to see your list of elastic IPs, For getting an IP click on "Allocate New Address". You will see a screen popup will appear after that for confirmation
After this step you will be able to see the Ip in the elastic IP list on that select the ip and click on "Actions". Choose "Associate Address" from this you will get a list where you can choose the instance which you want to be mapped to that elastic ip
Select Instance and click on "Associate". Thus after few seconds your instance will be mapped to the elastic IP
