  • How to locate elements through UIAutomatorViewer ?

    In my previous blog I have explained about Methods to locate elements through Appium. In this I will guide you to locate elements through UIAutomatorViewer.

    Locating element is one of the difficult task in mobile automation. We can use UIAutomatorViewer tool to locate elements. Follow the below steps to locate elements:

    • Connect your mobile device with your machine
    • Open the application screen in which you want to locate elements
    • Launch UIAutomatorViewer
    • Click on "Device Screenshot" icon present on left most corner next to folder icon.
    • Within few seconds the screenshot of the mobile screen will be present on the left panel.
    • Move the pointer on desired element and you will see the details of that element on the right panel
