When we launch a website or taking steps to official launch, the Word SEO many times come in our mind. So what is this SEO?
SEO: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's unpaid results - often referred to as "natural,""organic," or "earned" results.

SEO is basically divided into two main categories:
- On-Page SEO
- Off- Page SEO
In this post we are considering only first one i.e On-Page SEO:
On-Page SEO deals only with the web pages/Website. It optimized changes or updates done only on Website or Web Page to rank well in various SERPs (Search Engine Result Page) search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.
On-Page SEO is most essential part any SEO campaign, which include various factors/parameters listed below:
Use Keywords in Title Tag:
Your Title tag must keyword included in it, not overly stuffed but makes some sense to both user and search engines. It should be noted that title is around 55 characters in length. Targeted keyword should put nearer to the beginning of title.
Write a Keyword Focused Meta Description:
In SERPs, Meta description is plays a very important role. If you are within 150 characters limit you will found your meta description can behave like no cost advertisement on many search engine, so you should make make you 150 characters count. Describe your USP, Brand, location etc. Also Google shows your searched keyword in bold in description as well. So there must be some good weightage of adding your keyword phrases in meta description.
Use Properly Structured Urls:
A SEO friendly URL is pretty well for the targeted Keyword because search engine crawl the web URL Phrases. It also demonstrates some kind of information to user. Your each page URL must be SEO friendly URL which obviously includes your keyword at the same time tells the user what the page is about. When we search a particular keyword phrase, it become bold in Google SERP that means description still have importance in Google Algorithm. The URL must include keyword phrases in such a way that it makes a proper sense and should be readable.
Use only single version of URL either it is WWW or Non- WWW. To setup this you can utilize any of your preferred method:
- 301 Redirect
- Canonicalization method
- Set your preferred domain with Google Webmaster Tool
*Tip: Check Allow/Disallow content/URLs of Website. Properly check all the live URL should be indexed in various search engines.*
Use Title/Key Phrases in H1 Tag
H1 tags are known for headline. The H tag (H1, H2,H3) play very important role when you look it to utilizing in SEO. The main aim of this tag is to tell the search engine how the content is converted into readable form.
There are some questions one must ask oneself at each turn of on-page SEO:-
- Are the headlines and Subheadlines using keywords logically?
- Are they adding to the flow of the whole content?
- Are they required and engaging people?
Use a Proper Sitemap:
To enhance the page in search engine listing data, markup plays very vital role in SEO. Providing much information to search engine's of your pages can improve your page result in SERPs of various search engines.
You can generate site map automatically with the help of any one of these below websites:
- https://www.xml-sitemaps.com
- http://www.check-domains.com
I personally prefer to use first one.
Internal Linking with anchor text:
They say strength in Unity. Same is applicable for your website. Like in off-page seo practice we do build links with our targeted keywords anchors text. Internal links have their own weightage on your website.
It is always good to have all your web pages interlinked and if they are interlinked with their respective keywords anchor text what better can you expect from website. But keep one thing in mind not over do this. Only use sensible approach to this process.
Put some Outbound Links:
Outbound links plays crucial role in the world of SEO. Outbound links help search engine to know what is about the content is.
More than the ranking parameters, outbound links have relevancy factor that tells the search engine that what is your web page is all about. Adding some references or citations make your user to feel that how deep you researched on a particular page.
What type of website is used for outbound link?
- Niche Website related to your category.
- Use some high authority websites.
- General website like Wikipedia.
- Your social media profiles pages.
