    Hi there,

    This is an interesting blog if you want to use Mac OS like Genie effect on your Ubuntu machine then this blog might be useful for you. Follow these steps and at the end you will get changed minimized and maximized animations which looks cool.

    You need to install "compiz” and “CompizConfig Settings Manager” from Ubuntu software center.

    Go to Ubuntu Dash and type compizConfig Setting Manager

    Open CompizConfig Setting Manager.

    Select Effect Tab and then check Animations checkbox.

    After that click on Animations

    Here click on Open Animation Tab , then click on new and put the following values.

    for Open Effect select Magic Lamp

    Duration 350
    Window Match (type=Normal | Dialog | ModalDialog | Unknown)

    Open Animation Tab should look like this

    Do the same for Close Animation, Minimize Animation Tab with same values.

    Go To Effect Settings Tab

    Here put the following values

    For Magic Lamp

    Open/Close Moving End      Check this
    Grid Y Resolution        100
    Open Start WIdth        30


     

    For Magic Lamp Wavy

    Open/Close Moving End      Check this
    Grid Y Resolution        100
    Max Waves            30
    Min Wave Amplitude       200.0000
    MaxWave Amplitude       300.0000
    Open Start WIdth        30

    Don't forget to Enable Animation 

    Now enjoy Genie Effect on your Ubuntu machine. :)
